Future

Went job-shadowing today at an architectural firm. It was quite an experience! I learned so much about the ins and outs of being an architect. I think it's a job I will seriously consider in the future. Mr. Carletti (the architect I was shadowing) took me to a job site where they were half finished with a building and I sat in on a meeting between him and the other supervisors on the project. We did a bit of waiting in a couple of city halls to turn in proposals for building permits. Once we got back to his office, I went and talked with a couple of his employees that were working on their own projects. One was working on a fire-station that's being built near where I live (I think I'm gonna go check it out sometime), and the other was working on a huge Catholic church being built in Mt. Vernon. They walked me through the plans and showed me how they organized it all and stuff. So much information, I've probably forgotten half of it already. But the important things I remember: I could totally do this for a living! (... I think... x) I'm glad I still have a couple years to decide... but I'm also glad that I have an idea now... =)
